Match PreviewThe Owls take a break from League One action this weekend with a visit to Bloomfield Road to play in the F.A. Cup.
Wednesdayite.com match previewer Ricky Charlesworth previews the Owls v Blackpool F.A. Cup 4th Round tie which takes place at Bloomfield Road on Saturday 28th January 2012 with a 3pm kick off.
DARLINGTON FC
As you may be aware Darlington FC were last week facing the end of its 128 years existence and were only given a stay of execution at the thirteenth hour. However, it really is only a stay of execution - the club has no Plan B should the current discussions around the long-term future of the club (linked to development of land around the stadium) fail.
With this in mind a group of Wednesday fans headed up by Owlsalive's own Beastie (@beastie_ on Twitter) have arranged to head up to Darlington to swell the gate numbers on Saturday (28th January) whilst the Owls are away at the sold-out Blackpool match. And following calls from Owls supporters’ we at Wednesdayite organised a bucket collection to raise money at Hillsborough at the Hartlepool United game.
Away Coach
Sheffield Wednesday will be travelling to St James Park for the Owls' League One game v Exeter City on Saturday 11th February 2012.
Kick off is at 3:00pm and a Wednesdayite Coach service will be departing from the Wednesdayite Car Park, Penistone Road (Opposite the Kop at Hillsborough) at 7:15am prompt.
Please note our previous coaches have sold out quickly and therefore we urge you to book early.
Details of how to book and further details follow...
Lord Hillsborough lets us 'through the keyhole' this month and shares with us his garden, or pitch as he calls it, which he loving takes care of daily with his groundsman.
FIRST WEDNESDAY
By far the most popular First Wednesday event of 2011 was our Strikers Night at Hirsty's Bar - so we're kicking off 2012 in exactly the same fashion!
Once again we're getting some true Wednesday legends to Hillsborough to answer your questions about their time playing for the mighty Owls. And this lot should be able to keep control of a rowdy crowd, because they've all made their names wearing the captain's armband! That's right - it's time for Captains Night at Hirsty's Bar!
