Come to Kit Launch and get your shirt early!

Category:   Wednesdayite News | Author:   JamesHargreaves

Supporters have the opportunity of getting their hands on the new SWFC home kit two days early this season.

Attendees of the New Kit Launch event tomorrow night (Thursday) will be able to collect their shirt on the night - well before the new attire is officially available on Saturday July 4th.

What's more, a host of SWFC stars including Akpo Sodje, Luke Boden, Richard O'Donnell, Mark Beevers and Richard Wood (along with former Owls star and Radio Sheffield legend John Pearson) will be modelling the new kits - and a range of clothes from retailer John Lewis - throughout the night.

Sheffield Wednesday chairman, Lee Strafford, said: "These could prove to be the most popular Wednesday shirts ever because of our partnership with The Children's Hospital, Sheffield, and the superb quality of the kits produced by PUMA."

"The more fans who buy Sheffield Wednesday shirts, the more money we are able to direct to the Children's Hospital Charity."

The kit launch party takes place at 7.30pm on Thursday, July 2, tickets are £10 and supporters can order their shirt at the same time as buying a ticket (all current discounts apply). Fans who have already pre-ordered and want to collect their shirt on the night should inform ticketing staff when buying tickets for this event. A percentage of the proceeds from the event will be donated to The Children's Hospital.

Tickets can be bought in person at the Owls Megastore or by phoning 0871 900 9700.

Additionally, The Children's Hospital Charity will receive £1 from every ticket sold for this kit launch event through John Lewis' involvement in the Master Cutler's Challenge.

Have you got your Season Ticket yet?

Category:   Wednesdayite News | Author:   JamesHargreaves

Figures released yesterday show healthy SWFC Season Ticket sales of 12,264 so far - a massive 21% up on the same period of availability last season.

It is particularly pleasing that the Season Ticket sales have significantly surpassed the grand total sold at the beginning of the last campaign.

Owls Chairman Lee strafford has been extremely vocal of the impact Season Ticket sales can make to the club - with increased revenues from the sales going towards team-building and a solid fanbase being attractive to any potential investors who may look at the club.

A very public target of 16,500 sales is in place and supporters who have not renewed or bought yet are being urged to try and help the club achieve that target for the beginning of the season.

If you haven't yet renewed or purchased your Season Ticket you can do so online now. There is also a 'refer a friend' scheme in place for supporters and their friends to earn additional benefits upon the purchase of their tickets, more details of which can be found here.

Lee Strafford has encouraged fans to help drive Season Ticket sales in the build up to the new season, saying: "It's important to remember that the best sales force we have for season tickets are Wednesdayites themselves."

"I urge Wednesdayites to take ownership of driving season ticket uptake through the Refer A Friend programme so we can exceed our target of 16,500 season tickets sold and increase investment on the pitch."

Volunteers Required - Various Wednesdayite/SWFC Projects

Category:   Wednesdayite News | Author:   JamesHargreaves

The following are some of the areas where volunteer assistance is required, both for the Club and for Wednesdayite.  If you are able to assist with any of these, please let us know.  If you can draw in your friends and families to help, all the better!!

CLUB REQUESTS

Painting

The Club has asked if we could offer help with painting the steps (yellow markers) in the stands.  You don't need to be a professional but just reasonable with a paint brush!  They are seeking assistance from week commencing 22 June. The yellow markers are essential safety aspects of the stadium and without it being sufficiently done, the stadium cannot open for any matches or events.

Washing Seats

The seats in the stands all need washing!  Again, the Club is seeking our assistance from week commencing 22 June.

Clean Up Team

Required to sweep the South Stand and Grandstand after the Hull City game (Saturday 25 July) for a couple of hours to make sure that it is ready for the Open Day and Akpo's Charity Match which takes place on Sunday 26 July. Again, this is essential work that must be completed before the stadium can be opened for matches and events.

We are hoping that there will be some incentive, ie free tickets to the home friendlies and are just awaiting confirmation from the Club on this.

WEDNESDAYITE REQUESTS

Car Park Clean Up

We are planning a Wednesdayite Car Park Clean Up on Saturday 18 July from 8.30am onwards.  This is an appeal for volunteers to come along and help out.  As a special appeal we really need a JCB to clear what has been used as the 'Away' Car Park - we believe we could significantly increase the capacity if this area was cleared.  If you know of any JCB owners out there that could help us out - either free or at a very competitive rate, please let us know.  This is also a positive way of helping the local community by improving their environment.

Writing - Articles and Blogs

We normally produce a Newsletter approximately every quarter that is distributed to both members and non-members.  We are looking for authors, journalists or anyone who feels they have the necessary skills to either take responsibility for producing the Newsletter or contributing articles.  If you are interested and would like more information, please let us know.

Additionally, the new Wednesdayite Website will shortly be launched and some of the new features we are looking to introduce are regular fan articles and blogs.  We are looking for confident, knowledgeable and opinionated writers who will be able to contribute regular (weekly) articles, such as match previews, match reviews and opinion piece blogs.

For more information on how you can take part in any of these projects and initiatives, please email us at enquiries@wednesdayite.com.

Thank you in advance for your interest!
