Last week we confirmed that the Wednesdayite Lounge would be remaining at the Hillsborough Club for the remainder of the current season. Unfortunately this is not now going to be the case.

We know that this temporary change of venue had not received universal approval from our Lounge regulars and numbers using the facility had dropped significantly over the last few weeks to the point where less than forty members were in attendance last Saturday ahead of the Crystal Palace match. This level of attendance suited neither party and we have reluctantly agreed to cease these arrangements with immediate effect.

We remain grateful to the officials and staff at the Hillsborough Club who have made us very welcome over the last two months. The subsidised members ’ bar at the Hillsborough Club, with TV facilities, remains available to anyone wishing to become a member there. Annual membership is just £4.00.

Our regular home, upstairs at The Park, Wadsley Lane is not available to us for the remainder of the current season. However with just four home games left this season, only one of which being a regular Saturday 3.00 p.m. kick-off, we have decided not to seek alternative temporary premises in the meantime. Accordingly, there will be no pre-match Wednesdayite Lounge facility available now until the start of the new season. 

We regret the temporary loss of what had become a popular member facility but clearly the arrangements at the Hillsborough Club did not, in the event, meet with the requirements sufficient of our members to make this a viable interim solution.
