Owner of Thornbridge Hall in Derbyshire, Jim has a number of local business interests including the Thornbridge brewery and food group Novantia.

He is a huge Sheffield Wednesday fan, who was previously Chairman of the Owls Trust and an elected Wednesdayite Board Director before becoming a Patron in 2006.
