Owls Blog - Unsung Hero

As we head towards Christmas Owls Blogger and Sky Sports fan zone SWFC blogger Carl Mullooly returns to Wednesdayite.com blogs about an unsung Owls hero.

"With Christmas fast approaching, the Owls find themselves in a strong position going into the festive period. Promotion is a distinct possibility and it seems everyone at the club is pulling in the right direction. Almost 4,000 Owls made the trip across the pennies for our recent visit to Oldham, and Walsall are moving season ticket holders in order to accommodate more away fans when we go there on Boxing Day.

Wednesdayite Away Coach - The only way to travel!

18 December 2011

Our Wednesdayite Away Coach service goes from strength to strength as the Owls embark on their  Championship campaign . Any Wednesdayite who has followed the boys away from home knows that the atmosphere and passion of Wednesday's away following is second to none - and our Wednesdayite Away Coach is the perfect way to ensure that you're a part of it!

We only use luxury coaches - we take as many as four to each match - so you can travel in comfort, a selection of food and soft drinks to keep energy levels high and raffles and quizzes to help pass the time. All of this and at very reasonable prices too - you'll struggle to get to the match and back for less!

It is also a great way to meet other Wednesdayite members and SWFC supporters - we also offer places to non-members, at a slight extra cost - members save a guaranteed £2 per trip!

With pick-up points not only at the Wednesdayite Car Park, but also at conveniently-located spots near Sheffield's M1 junctions, it's convenient, family-friendly and fun for all.

We once again welcome a new Owls Blogger to the Wednesdayite.com, Charlie Allen who is 19 years old and lives in Intake S12 but was born in the lovely S6.

He moved away from Sheffield for about 7 years occasionally coming back to see the Owls for birthdays and so on when Gerald Sibon and Shefki Kuqi were in their prime and eventually moved back to Sheffield when he was about 11-12 to be reunited with the blue and white wizards and have been watching them ever since.  I have had a season ticket for the past painfull 5 years and get to as many away games as possible.  Hopefully now things have changed with the two M's, Megson and Mandaric at the helm so lets get behind the lads.

Hirsty's Bar Strikers Night - Back Of The Net!

11 November 2011

WednesdayiteFIRST WEDNESDAY

Over 270 Owls fans packed into the club's 1867 Lounge last Wednesday to enjoy our first Hirsty's Bar of the season - this one given over to the men at the sharp end, the gunslingers, the netbusters - the strikers. Host Hirsty was in great form as always, but was matched every step of the way by two other Owls legends in Rodger Wylde and Jack Whitham, not to mention the current goal king of Hillsborough, Gary Madine!

After the Owls 2-2 draw at Bramall Lane last Sunday Owls blogger Mark Hazell returns to Wednesdayite.com with his memories of the Steel City Derby.  Mark grew up in Doncaster and went to school in Broomhill, Sheffield followed by going to Birmingham University to do Economics and Spanish and graduated last summer before joining Opta Sports in November 2010 and now works for their editorial department in London.

Mark has always supported Wednesday and used to go to games with his Dad when he was younger and got his first season ticket when he was about 13. vMark has kept his season ticket despite moving away from Sheffield, and tries to get back as much as he can as well as going to away games when possible.

Born and raised in Sheffield..age 48...I have resided on the 'dark side' of the Pennines since the mid 1980's surrounded by Armchair Manchester United followers and passionate City supporters....so no such luxury as a home game. Owls Blog - Early Season Review 2011-12

21 September 2011
Owls BlogOwls Blog
Owls Blogger and Sky Sports fan zone SWFC blogger Carl Mullooly returns to Wednesdayite.com with his first blog of the 2011-12 season.

"We are now 9 games into the season and the League 1 table is starting to take shape. We are currently 4 points from the automatic promotion places after a somewhat turbulent start to the season, which is a decent position to mount a serious promotion challenge. It looks like there are 5 or 6 teams who will be aiming for automatic promotion.
