13 March 2012
Owls BlogOwls Blog
Lord Hillsborough recently attended the Steel City derby versus Sheffield United, not as you may think as a VIP, but as a guest of our SMILE tickets scheme.
The Lord tells us about his day and a little but about SMILE with his latest blog for Wednesdayite.com

Smile Tickets - Helping deserving fans see the Owls

13 March 2012

Our SMILE Ticket scheme is the perfect way to give the gift of a free match at Hillsborough to someone who deserves it. Previous seasons have seen us not only reach out to those who are battling medical conditions and groups of schoolchildren, but also to other fans who, for whatever reason, have seen their love of the Owls take a back seat to the issues facing them in their lives. So we thought - why not make SMILE available to deserving Wednesdayites across the entire SWFC family?

Thanks to generous donations from members and supporters, Wednesdayite can provide match day tickets to people that would not normally be able to attend. Tickets areawarded on a match-by-match basis to qualifying applicants.

Do you know someone that you could nominate for a SMILE match day ticket to watch the Owls?

  • A child that has worked extra hard at school to improve their grades?
  • Parents that do everything possible to make family life happy but never get a break themselves?
  • Recently been made redundant?
  • Fighting an illness?
  • Work hard everyday to provide for family and as a result have no spare money for a day out?

There are a number of ways you can nominate someone just by sending your name and number and breif detials of who you are nominating

  • Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Text 07368 419342
  • Voicemail 07368 419342

We are welcoming donations of any amount to go towards the fund, which will truly make a number of deserving people's days.

You may also donate in person by speaking to a Wednesdayite Director at the Wednesdayite Lounge, or the Wednesdayite Car Park before a home match.

Owls Blog - In Milan We Trust

09 March 2012

Owls Blogger and Sky Sports fan zone SWFC blogger Carl Mullooly returns to Wednesdayite.com with his blog for March and talks about the comings and goings at Hillsborough recently.

"I remember writing a blog just over a year ago, wondering whether Gary Megson was going to be a long term appointment. On Wednesday 29th February 2012 I got my answer. Initially I was shocked, but can’t say I was overly disappointed. I didn’t really want Megson in the first instance, but as with any other manager I supported him, and he did bring lots of qualities to the club. He’s gone out on a high winning the derby and will be fondly remembered by many, and the only other manager in recent history who falls into that bracket is Paul Sturrock…who won a play off final!
