Owls Blog - Looking For The Positives17 February 2012
"I try not to be negative about the team and tend to look for the positives, but at the moment I’m struggling to come to terms with our current form and performances. I’ve had some thoughts about why we have suffered a down turn in form which I wanted to put down. In saying all this, we are still in a decent position and by no means out of the automatic promotion picture, but I think we need a swift upturn in form and in the back of my mind I really hope we don’t face a battle to make the play offs.

Wednesdayite Lounge - the best pre-match venue08 February 2012
Popular with many of our members, we have our very own pre-match Lounge where members and their guests can enjoy cheap drinks, BT sports on the big screen, along with great freshly-cooked food before the big match. And all this within a short distance of the ground! It’s a great place to meet up and discuss all things happening at Hillsborough, build up to the game and to meet other members from all over the country who have made this their regular meeting place. And best of all, entry is complete free to Wednesdayite members - so come along and join in the matchday fun!
The Wednesdayite Lounge is at the popular venue of The Niagara Club on Niagara Road, Wadsley Bridge, S6 1LU and is open at 12pm until Kick off for all Saturday 3pm games, and from 5:00pm until Kick off for night matches.
Just a few minutes walk from Sheffield Wednesday's Hillsborough ground, The Wednesdayite Lounge is the ideal pre-match meeting point to have a drink, some food and get together with fellow Wednesday fans.
Signing In - All members and guests must sign in on entry to the Lounge and members will be asked to show their Wednesdayite membership cards as part of the signing-in process. Amongst other things, this will enable us to track numbers for health and safety purposes (ensuring we do not breach fire safety quotas etc) and to more proactively manage membership renewals by prompting and processing renewals there and then.
Guests - We will continue to welcome members’ guests to the Lounge at an entry fee of £1 per guest (children free) which will help raise funds and promote new memberships. If you are intending to bring more than two guests to the Lounge at any time, please advise a Wednesdayite director beforehand.
Please note MATCH DAY car parking is NOT available at the Niagara, please use our own match day parking facilities.
Owls Blog - Don't Panic Captain Mandaric31 January 2012
"Never a dull moment at S6 these days is there. What with our illustrious Chairman having to fend off allegations from HMRC to the unbelievable injury time allowances from a certain referee Mr Deadman - (who again left us infuriated) at Blackpool on Saturday in injury time – Owls must have upset this referee somewhere in his past performances.
Owls Blog - Oh I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside30 January 2012
"I tell a lie, I don't particularly like to live beside the seaside, and who would if your local team was Blackpool. Alright they're a half decent team, but it is their fans that lead them to shame. As I’m from the Fylde coast the only possible way to watch, what Blackpool fans were describing as "The MASSIVE Wednesday." (They said it not me) was to take my seat in their home stand.
Owls Blog - Waiting for Our Time30 January 2012
Ashley in currently sunning himself in Mexico whilst 2,000 of us were wrapping up warm in Blackpool, but without further a do it's over to Ashley on his debut as he reminisces of years gone by.

The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters' Society functioning under the name of 'The Owls Trust' is set up. At the time, Sheffield Wednesday club directors Dave Allen, Keith Addy and Geoff Hulley bought an amount of shares in the club equal to 36.7% of the total share capital of Sheffield Wednesday PLC, from investment company Charterhouse. The purchase of more than 29.9% of any company triggers a mandatory bid for the remaining shares in company law, however to avoid making such a bid, a portion of those shares equal to 9.46% of Sheffield Wednesday PLC were donated to the fledgling fans' trust.
