We welcome back Glyn Thornhill to Wednesdayite.com for his third appearance of the season as an Owls Blogger.  We'll hand straight over to Glyn, who's getting unbelievably excited as the season comes to a close!

"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too"

In the words of Rudyard Kipling - quoted above - last Saturday's injury time winner perfectly summed up the situation.

In injury time less than sixty seconds remaining and up pops Antonio with a delightful goal to send Hillsborough into rapturous celebration.

Sheffield Wednesday players failed to make the team of the season for League One.
But. hey what do those experts know. Prior to the Carlisle game I spent all week before listening to 'pundits' tell me it was a defining weekend - with the football league show sat at MK Dons for the feature game... the dark side were going to get promoted...Even the Football League Show informed us they are 2 points in front. No Steve Claridge I think you will see it's one point , but its like two with the goal difference '??? What ???

We spoiled the media party - laughable , and let' s hope it continues through to the final game of the league season.
When we trailed by 8 points going into the business end of the campaign you would have snatched my hand off given the opportunity to be one point behind the coveted automatic promotion spot at this stage. The pressure is on the leading team nervously looking over their shoulder. We cannot influence their games , but sure are pushing at full tilt to make it a hard run in....

Dave Jones must take huge credit from his eight wins , and two draws since taking over. He has made two astute loan signings , and has got us playing some quality football using the wings alongside a tight knit defence - who are conceding very few goals.... In Milan we trust - his decision has proved to be the correct one.

One thing for sure this season has been a rollercoaster ride .. . Not witnessed at this lower level except by King Sturrock who succeeded in the League One play off final ..so enjoy the ride . Expect the unexpected in football . You can never predict the final outcome with twists and turns on a weekly basis. 87 points would have guaranteed promotion most seasons . This just highlights the competitive nature of League One this season.

However it pans out in these next two weeks be thankful for The Owls we are in a much better place than at any time in the last ten years.
Makes a huge change from previous seasons languishing mid table or nervously checking the relegation run in.....
In Dave Jones we have a football manager who galvanises footballers to play the game , and a chairman in who we trust .. Onwards and upwards to the finale.
The outcome will be tense, nervous but exciting......
