Wednesdayite are pleased to announce places are now available on the Wednesdayite Away Coach for the Newcastle United Vs. Sheffield Wednesday match on Wednesday 19th August 2009 (7:45pm Kick Off).

The coach will be departing from the Wednesdayite Car Park, Penistone Road (Opposite the Kop at Hillsborough) at 3:15pm and will make certain stops on the way, depending on demand.

Prices for this journey are:

  • Wednesdayite Adult Members: £14.00
  • Wednesdayite Junior Members: £13.00
  • Non-members: £15.00

We expect exceptionally high-demand for this coach service to Newcastle and therefore places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis upon payment.

Places may still be available on the clubs' official 'InterCity Owl' service- please check with the SWFC ticket office directly.

AWAY COACH LOYALTY SCHEME 09/10

This season, Wednesdayite are operating a loyalty scheme, whereby every full-price journey you make on the Wednesdayite Away Coach will earn you £1.00 off the cost of travel to the final away fixture of the season. Full details will be available from Wednesdayite Directors Jeff Williams and Dave Barlow on the coach journey itself.

What time will the coaches be due to arrive in Newcastle City Centre?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your question.

There is planned to be a stop off at a pub during the journey and therefore arrivial time looks to be between 45-60 minutes before kick-off.

Hi, i was just wondering if your allowed to bring your own drinks (specifically alcohol) on to the coach?

Hi Robert,

Unfortunately it is deemed illegal to consume alcoholic drinks on coaches these days, so the answer is no.

However, feel free to bring your own soft drinks and snacks if you wish.

A bit more information on that, just to clarify, as it has been asked before:

"The Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol Etc), Act, 1985, specifically prohibits the carrying or consuming of alcohol on coaches travelling to or from designated sporting events, which includes all senior football matches. Not only would you be at risk of arrest, but police have powers to turn the coaches around, causing all passengers to miss the game."
