That’s right, we have our very own pre-match Lounge where members and their guests can enjoy cheap drinks, sky television, raffles and Wednesday memorabilia along with a free buffet before the Big match. And all this within a short distance of the ground.

It’s a great place to meet up and discuss all things happening at Hillsborough, build up to the game and to meet other members from all over the country who have made this their regular meeting place.



The Wednesdayite Lounge is back for the 2009/10 season at the popular venue of The Niagara Club on Niagara Road, Wadsley Bridge, S6 1LU on the following dates:

  • Sat. 17th Oct 2009 - 12noon to 2:45pm - Owls v Coventry
  • Sat 7th Nov 2009 - 12noon to 2:45 - Owls v QPR
  • Sat. 28th Nov 2009 - 12noon to 2:45pm - Owls v West Brom - Bradfield Room
  • Sat. 5th Dec 2009 - 12noon to 2:45pm - Owls v Reading
  • Sat. 19th Dec 2009 - 12noon to 2:45pm - Owls v Swansea
  • Sat 26th Dec 2009 – 11.00am to 12.30pm - Owls v Newcastle

Just a few minutes walk from Sheffield Wednesday's Hillsborough ground, The Wednesdayite Lounge is the ideal pre-match meeting point to have a drink, some food and get together with fellow Wednesday fans.


Signing In - All members and guests must sign in on entry to the Lounge and members will be asked to exhibit their Wednesdayite membership cards as part of the signing-in process. Amongst other things, this will enable us to track numbers for health and safety purposes (ensuring we do not breach fire safety quotas etc) and to more proactively manage membership renewals by prompting and processing renewals there and then.

Guests - We will continue to welcome members’ guests to the Lounge although we are to re-introduce an entry fee of £1 per guest (not children) which will help raise funds and promote new memberships. If you are intending to bring more than two guests to the Lounge at any time, please advise a Wednesdayite director beforehand.

Hi Michael,

Last season we spent much of the matchdays hosting the Wednesdayite Lounge at The Niagara club, which was largely successful.

However, unfortunately the venue is booked up for a number of matches at the start of this season, so we are unable to confirm a venue right now.

We are currently working on a special alternative, which would be rather close to the ground and much more convenient, however, this won't be ready for the Barnsley game and therefore there is no lounge for at least the first match of the season- watch this space for updates though!

Unfortuntely there isn't one tomorrow.

The Niagara is still booked up for a few more games and the alternative is still being worked on (but if it comes off, it will be brilliant!).
