For the Owls v Yeovil Town League One game at Hillsborough on Saturday February 4th 2012, Sheridan Scott (Shez) reports back with his view of the game.
Owls 2-1 Yeovil Town
"Today's visitors to Hillsborough were Yeovil Town and with Sheffield United's game at Colchester postponed and MK Dons playing at Huddersfield, this was a perfect opportunity for the Owls to gain some momentum and take advantage.
The first half started with Wednesday having much of the possession but not being able to convert chances. None of the strikers could hit a barn door in the first half and Wednesday had most of the chances but Yeovil had the best chance when one on one with Bywater but squandered the chance.
After Wednesday missed chance after chance Yeovil opened the scoring and the Owls looked pathetic and vulnerable once again. Yeovil nearly doubled their lead when Reda Johnson nearly slotted the ball past Bywater in the Wednesday goal.
The half finished with Yeovil 1-0 up and Wednesday looking boring and the poorest side on the pitch. If we are considering ourselves serious promotion contenders we wouldn't be 1-0 down at half time. 45 minutes to save our pride.
The second half started pretty much as the first ended with Wednesday pressing without any real conviction. The Owls broke their duck with a superb world class long range strike from Jermaine Johnson as the winger continues his fantastic form.
Wednesday pushed on and tried to force themselves into the lead and they did. Reda Johnson popped up in the box after a goal mouth scramble and smashed the ball into the roof of the net. Rewarding the Owls second half performance with a lead that they thoroughly deserved.
So the boys made me eat my words at half time and upped their game for the second half. After another fine performance from Jermaine Johnson and another world class strike from the Jamaican winger leaving the fans with only one question ....... BEN WHO??????"
