WEDNESDAY v CHESTERFIELD
B2net
Saturday 18 Feb
1pm

LOWDOWN
After the rarity of two successive league defeats, Wednesday make the short trip to Chesterfield looking to get back to winning ways and move back into second spot, if only for a few hours at least.

The Owls visit the b2net for the first time on the back of frustrating defeats to recent bogey teams, Exeter and Stevenage. Tuesday saw the fifth defeat in the last six meetings against those two sides, and Gary Megson will be glad to see the back of the two as the season reaches its tail-end.

A win on Saturday, in this lunchtime derby, would be the perfect tonic for Wednesday after a miserable week that saw them squander a lead at St James’ last Saturday before a stagnated performance in midweek saw them beaten at home for only the second time this season.

With an unwanted gap now appearing between Wednesday and the Blades, this game has arguably grown in importance ahead of that Steel City derby a week on Sunday. A win here is essentially, a must.

TEAM NEWS
Megson is likely to tinker with his side after the midweek setback against Stevenage. Reda Johnson is expected to go straight back into the team after serving a two-match suspension. Jon Otsemobor is expected to drop out of the back-four, whilst Miguel Llera may return having had stitches for a nasty cut inflicted last week at Exeter.

In goal, Stephen Bywater has come under fire recently, meaning a possible return for Nicky Weaver. Elsewhere, John Bostock should have returned from a virus that saw him sit out the Stevenage game. He could come into the side at the expense of either David Prutton or Chris Lines. Up front, Ryan Lowe (calf) is rated 50-50, but if he passes fit he will start alongside Chris O’Grady.

PROBABLE SIDE
Bywater;
Buxton, Batth, R Jones, R Johnson;
J Johnson, Semedo, Prutton or Bostock, Lines;
O’Grady, Lowe or Madine

KEYMAN
Jermaine JOHNSON; the winger has been the Owls’ standout performer recently, and will hopefully continue his fine form in this local derby. With 4 goals in his last 6 matches, he will undoubtedly gain the majority of attention from the Spireites backline on Saturday.

Up the Owls
Ricky.

Llera

Surely Llera for Rob Jones in the probable side?! Let's hope so!
