SWFC NewsA delegation from the England 2018 World Cup Bid attended Hillsborough yesterday to view proposals to include the Sheffield Wednesday stadium amongst the host city venues.
The party from the bid committee were in attendance to coincide with Sheffield officially launching the ‘Sheffield 2018’ campaign to bring World Cup games to the city.

SWFC NewsFigures released yesterday show healthy SWFC Season Ticket sales of 12,264 so far - a massive 21% up on the same period of availability last season.
It is particularly pleasing that the Season Ticket sales have significantly surpassed the grand total sold at the beginning of the last campaign.

SWFC NewsFollowing the recent relighting of the neon signs on the back of the West Stand, Sheffield Wednesday continue to make improvements around Hillsborough this summer in preperation of the next season.
We've heard that extra focus is being given to improving the playing surface for next season's team following the problems caused by the floods of 2007; and there are other improvements being made around the ground to help enhance the supporters' matchday experience.

SWFC NewsSlightly older supporters will recall the memories of travelling along Leppings Lane at night to be greated by the welcoming blue-neon lights that told you where you were: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY.
Iconic for many, the famous neon lights were switched off several years ago as our cash-strapped club, and the previous regime, apparently sought to save on maintenance costs.
