SWFC NewsSheffield Wednesday Football Club has today announced their intentions to stand back from totesport.com league reserve team action.
The decision, made today by Owls boss Gary Megson, reflects his views that “there will be no reserve team football in three years time.”
What does this mean for our club and how could it affect our future?
This decision will see Sheffield Wednesday join many other clubs who have decided to leave the official league and favour “games behind closed doors.”
This move will also allow the Owls to play a game better suit the club, using “our own referees or playing longer games as suits”.
Reserve team supporters may be disappointed by today’s news but the decision is expected to attract a better league of opposition to S6 in future seasons.
