Hirsty and Kingy Become Honorary Wednesdayite Members

Owls LegendsThe Sheffield Wednesday Supporters' Society, Wednesdayite are delighted to welcome Owls legends David Hirst and Phil King to the Society as honorary members.
In September, 2009 David and Phil, and ex-Newcastle United star John Beresford took part in our Coast to Coast charity bicycle ride with several Wednesdayite directors and supporters.
As a token of our appreciation it was agreed that all three players would be awarded with Honorary Lifetime Memberships of Wednesdayite.
Phil received his membership certificate during the charity race night in January, which he compered for the evening and helped raise further money for The Children’s Hospital, Sheffield.

We then took the opportunity to award former goal scoring sensation, David Hirst, with his certificate on the Hillsborough pitch before the match with Derby County on March 20th 2010.
We welcome both David and Phil to Wednesdayite and we anticipate making a similar presentation to John Beresford in the near future.
