David Blunkett to Zip Across Hillsborough

Blunkett Zip SlideWednesdayite Honorary President, the Rt Hon David Blunkett, has signed up to zip slide across Hillsborough Stadium to help raise much needed funds for The Children’s Hospital, Sheffield on Sunday 25th April 2010.
David will slide all the way from the back of the kop across the pitch to the Lepping Lane end of the stadium and will be joined by Wednesdayite directors Dave Barlow, Irma Kennedy and Diane Cockayne as well as Owls manager Alan Irvine and Owls Chairman Lee Strafford.
David wanted to take the opportunity to thank the hospital for the care he and his family have received.
He said: "I have personally benefited from this fantastic hospital, along with my three boys, and I am certain most people in Sheffield have been touched by the amazing work that takes place there.
"We are so fortunate to have one of the leading children's hospitals in the country on our doorstep and this is my way of showing my support for this excellent facility."
