Statement from Wednesdayite, The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters Society - dated 14th July 2010.

Wednesdayite have been and will continue to be in discussions with various parties in the pursuit of an equity deal along the lines that representatives of the SWFC Board have indicated would be acceptable to them, the loan note holders and the bank.

As part of this process, discussions have taken place between Wednesdayite representatives, Club 9 Sports and several other interested individuals and groups.

We are not in a position to do any deal or to stop any deal being put to the club but in any discussions we do have with interested parties, we will indicate the safeguards and assurances we would see as being necessary to include to ensure that the best interest of the club and its fans is served.

As we have shown before, if or when any matter arises which requires us to act in support or otherwise of any investment proposals, we will consult with our members before taking any action. In the meantime we will continue to explore all possiblities of securing investment to help the club to secure its future.

Not sure what that statement was made for, it doesn't really say anything we didn't already know or guess?

I just get the impression that when the music stops Sheffield Wednesday will be left with no chair to sit on. All the investors will have gone. I'm at a loss as to why suitable suitors are not banging our doors down to be involved in this wonderful and famous club.
