Save Darlo Bucket Collection

DARLINGTON FC
As you may be aware Darlington FC were last week facing the end of its 128 years existence and were only given a stay of execution at the thirteenth hour. However, it really is only a stay of execution - the club has no Plan B should the current discussions around the long-term future of the club (linked to development of land around the stadium) fail.
With this in mind a group of Wednesday fans headed up by Owlsalive's own Beastie (@beastie_ on Twitter) have arranged to head up to Darlington to swell the gate numbers on Saturday (28th January) whilst the Owls are away at the sold-out Blackpool match. And following calls from Owls supporters’ we at Wednesdayite organised a bucket collection to raise money at Hillsborough at the Hartlepool United game.
We had buckets at the Wednesdayite Lounge and also the Wednesdayite Car Park and Wednesday fans raised a respectable £138 pounds towards the Save Darlo campaign. Wednesdayite are to swell this figure to £250 and will send this up to The Darlington FC Rescue Group.

Darlington FC Rescue Group Donations - #Save Darlo

My self, and the club chaplin at Cambridge United arrange chairty bucket collections at all CUFC home games, normally for local groups, FAT games are extra games for us, and for our FAT game on Feb 4th members of the Darlington Supporters Trust have been invited to our game to hold a collection, as Cambridge United supporters we well aware of the problems facing Darlington today,it was us just a few years ago. Regardless of which club you support, as supporters of football I feel we should come to the aid of those whos clubs are at risk, I just hope that the long trip is worthwhile and we at CUFC can do our bit to help save Darlington FC.
