STEEL CITY SHOWDOWN SOLD OUT - ARE YOU THERE?
LOCAL GROUPS
With over 12,500 tickets sold in just three days, Hillsborough will be hosting the first sellout Sheffield derby in a decade come the end of next month (assuming that the Blades manage to sell their allocation, which is not a given seeing their non-massive away following).
The old lady will be well and truly rocking with all home areas full to the rafters - and with the club negotiating with SYP to reduce the ludicrously-conservative segregation, there may be room to squeeze a few more Owls in yet! We hope that you've got your tickets to what is possibly the most crucial Steel City derby in recent memory.
We've heard on the grapevine that plans are afoot for fan groups including Wednesdayite and the East Bank Ultras to make the atmosphere even more special for the day itself - watch this space and get ready to bring your singing voices!
Well done to everyone connected with SWFC for making the derby an already-memorable one, even before a ball is kicked!
SAVE DARLO - THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
DARLINGTON FC
As you may be aware Darlington FC were last week facing the end of its 128 years existence and were only given a stay of execution at the thirteenth hour. However, it really is only a stay of execution - the club has no Plan B should the current discussions around the long-term future of the club (linked to development of land around the stadium) fail.
With this in mind a group of Wednesday fans headed up by Owlsalive's own Beastie (@beastie_ on Twitter) have arranged to head up to Darlington to swell the gate numbers on Saturday (28th January) whilst the Owls are away at the sold-out Blackpool match. And following calls from Owls supporters’ we at Wednesdayite organised a bucket collection to raise money at Hillsborough at the Hartlepool United game.
We had buckets at the Wednesdayite Lounge and also the Wednesdayite Car Park and Wednesday fans raised a respectable £138 pounds towards the Save Darlo campaign. Wednesdayite are to swell this figure to £250 and will send this up to The Darlington FC Rescue Group.
If you would like to help keep the historic name of Darlington FC in the world of football, please support the Save Darlo campaign, or make a donation via Paypal to

LORD HILLSBOROUGH: 'LAUDING' THE GROUNDSMAN
OWLS BLOG
Oh yes he's here, the one you've all been waiting for, Lord Hillsborough is back with his latest Owls blog for Wednesdayite.com!
Lord Hillsborough lets us 'through the keyhole' this month and shares with us his garden, or pitch as he calls it, which he loving takes care of daily with his groundsman.
"I say, it's awfully lovely to be back with you all and utterly super of the folks at Wednesdayite to allow me to have this little tête à tête with you all. Any who, on with today's yarn; I was enjoying a rather lavish lunch that cook had knocked up for Lady H and I. A good old fashion Sunday roast with stuffed pheasant, a spit roasted hog, potatoes roasted in goose fat and all the other usual trimmings that I sure we're all accustomed to. It was washed down with a cheeky little red number for me and several pints of Speckled Hen for Lady H. Consequently, after devouring such a meal, one does tend to be left feeling rather "podged". To remedy this I suggested to Lady H that we take a turn or two around the lawn. I understand that most of the Wednesdayite's out there refer to my lawn as 'the pitch' but you must remember this horticultural wonder is quite literally my back garden."

WEDNESDAYITE AWAY COACH - KIDS SAVE £S + CHESTERFIELD
AWAY COACH
Our popular Away Coach service is the cheap, fun and hassle-free way to follow the Owls far and wide!
And it's even cheaper for kids to travel! Wednesdayite Junior Members can save up to £4 per trip - that's got to be worth bringing the kids along to join in the away day fun...
With the Owls being drawn away at Blackpool in the next round of the FA Cup, we may yet have a postponement of our Chesterfield trip on the 18th Feb. Should we be visiting our old friend Dave Allen as planned, Wednesdayite will be running our successful Park'N'Ride service to and from the B2Net Stadium. Watch this space! If you're a regular away traveller, how about volunteering to steward Wednesdayite coaches - as the service goes from strength to strength we need reliable, regular bodies to help things go as smoothly as possible - and there may even be little perks in it!
