Help us provide match tickets for disadvantaged fans with our Smile Tickets scheme.
WednesdayiteMany of you will be aware that Wednesdayite have been distributing Match day tickets for all the Owls Coca Cola Championship games at Hillsborough this season through our successful Smile Tickets scheme.
Over £3,500 was raised last summer from generous Owls fans who donated into our Smile Tickets fund following appeals on the Owls Fans Message Boards.
With the help of SWFC, we were able to use this money to buy 21 season tickets in the North Stand which were then converted into match day tickets.
Wednesdayite director Diane Cockayne liaised with The Children's Hospital, Sheffield and other community organisations to provide over 400 individual match day experiences. That’s at least 400 fans and potential fans who would not otherwise have been able to watch the Owls and experience a day out at Hillsborough.
Diane reports that the largest single group of recipients have been The Children’s Hospital patients and their families, followed by local school children, youngsters playing for the Owls Trust All Stars teams based in Darnall, children from local care homes and those of parents who have been unfortunately struck down by illness or infirmity and who cannot now afford to bring their families and kids along to Hillsborough.
We would like to repeat this hugely successful activity next season and so we are asking as many of you as possible, who can afford to, to help us raise enough to renew our block of season tickets. Please help us to bring some smiles to deserving folk - existing fans and new members of the Owls community.
