Many of you will be aware that Wednesdayite have been distributing Match day tickets for all the Owls NPower League One games at Hillsborough this season through our successful Smile Tickets scheme.

We have now opened up donations for the 2011/12 season, which will allow a number of disadvantaged people to see the Owls on a match-by-match basis throughout the coming 2011-12 season.

A bucket collection at the recent SWFC open day raised an initial £150 as an opening credit to the scheme and we are looking to raise more than we ever have done this time around.

Last season we raised over £3,500 and this enabled us to purchase 18 season tickets from the club to use for each and every League One home game.  We aim to raise more this time around and buy as many tickets as possible.

For last season we had 6 adult, 6 U-18 and 6 U-8 tickets to hand out for each match and they were processed into individual match day tickets. The tickets will be awarded to deserving individuals or groups who would not normally be able to attend games, for whatever reason.

Up until now the largest single group of recipients have been The Children’s Hospital patients and their families, followed by local school children, youngsters playing for the Owls Trust All Stars teams based in Darnall, children from local care homes and those of parents who have been unfortunately struck down by illness or infirmity and who cannot now afford to bring their families and kids along to Hillsborough.
