WEDNESDAYITE LOUNGE - THE BEST PRE-MATCH OPTION FOR EVERY OWL!
LOUNGE@NIAGARA
Open for every home game of the season, our Wednesdayite Lounge pre-match bar goes from strength to strength, with nigh-on a hundred Owls fans heading to the Niagara Club only 400 yards from the Kop to enjoy a warm, family-friendly pre-match experience that's a world away from packed-out pubs or standing on the corner eating fish and chips!
We've got a great selection of lager, ales and every other drink at the well-stocked bar, and with matchday food choices including pie, chips and peas, burgers, chilli and sandwiches all at brilliant prices there's something to fuel up any Wednesday fan.
Add to that plentiful space, loads of tables, Sky Sports on the big screen and the chance to win big cash prizes on the football card and Eddie's matchday crossword (with all proceeds going to our community activities), it's the ideal choice for your pre-match ritual.
Located at the Niagara Club just off Penistone Road (map and directions in the link below), it's a five-minute walk from the ground. Parking is available - most of our regulars park at Niagara and then take their cars down to the Wednesdayite Car Park before the match. Most of all, it welcomes Wednesdayite members and non-members alike (£1 charge for non-members) and is family-friendly - bring the kids and let them play in safety with the considerable group of young ones who are already Lounge regulars!
So why not come and give the Lounge a go? We're open from 12:30 every Saturday home game, from 6 for midweek matches and even do specials for Cup games (see the next story for more!). A warm welcome awaits for every Wednesday fan!

WEDNESDAYITE LOUNGE SPECIAL @ HILLSBOROUGH FOR FA CUP
LOUNGE SPECIAL
We're delighted to announce that the Wednesdayite Lounge is going to be even easier to get to than usual - as we will be resident at Hillsborough itself for the FA Cup match against Aldershot on December 3rd (that's next weekend!)
We'll be hosting the event in the Sheridan Suite (entrance at the west end of the South Stand at Hillsborough) - so the usual excellent choice of drinks at the bar and some top matchday nosh will also be available.
There will be the usual matchday crossword and football card, but we're also going to raffle off a signed Owls shirt - and hopefully we might just be able to entice some special guests to join us for the event!
Entry is free to Wednesdayite members (on production of membership card or confirmation email) with non-members also welcome for a pound.
Come along and let's cheer on the Owls into Round Three of the Cup!
OWLS BLOG - WELCOME TO LORD HILLSBOROUGH!
FAN BLOG
We gracefully welcome a new Owls Blogger to the fold and it's our pleasure and honour to welcome Lord Hillsborough to Wednesdayite.com!
The red carpet has been rolled out for the Lord's presence, so over to the Lord for his first blog...
"You could be forgiven for believing that the life of a Lord would be a easy one. Fancy food served on silver platters, all the latest mod cons at my disposal (perched something called a 'twin tub' just yesterday) and a Jeeves to wait on me hand and foot and make sure my every whim is provided for.
However you would be wrong.
The life of a lord can infact be a very stressful one. Lady Hillsborough is a rather spirited and high maintenance filly, the Hillsborough estate doesn't run it's self and cook just can't seem to get the consistency of my scrambled eggs correct.
Seeing that I was starting to become distressed, the ever vigilant Jeeves suggested that watching the highlights of the 1991 promotion season might lighten my mood"

OWLS IMPRESS TO PASS TRANMERE TEST
With the Owls 1-0 down after 38 minutes away at top-six contenders Tranmere, the woeful early-season away performances must have been on the minds of many of the massive SWFC contingent in the away end at Prenton Park on Saturday.
But Wednesday were only behind for a matter of minutes as Chris Lines notched his second goal in back-to-back games to pull the Owls level just before half-time, and then a dominant second half performance saw Wednesday win it through a Ryan Lowe header with ten minutes left - in front of a delirious away end!
With all the Owls' promotion rivals also winning, it was a vital three points and keeps Wednesday absolutely in the hunt ahead of vital games between the top sides in the division.
MADINE & BUXTON INJURED - BUT LOANEES LOOK STRONG
The Owls were forced to win the Tranmere game without two of their key performers, as Lewis Buxton's hamstring injury kept him out of the game completely, while the Goal Machine suffered a broken toe and had to come off at half-time.
Just in time for the loan deadline, Gary Megson moved to shore up both ends of the Owls lineup, with beast-of-a-centre-half Miguel Llera signing from Blackpool, Newcastle's young wing-back James Tavernier coming down the country and - perhaps most excitingly of all - Arsenal starlet Sanchez Watt, whose dazzling skills are a product of the fabled Gunners youth setup.
All three are eligible to play against Orient tomorrow and - with injuries on Gary Megson's mind, probably will!
